KoL - Zombie Slayer

The new seasonal challenge path is out, and it involves zombies! What could go wrong with modern gaming's most popular choice of enemies? ... Oh. Seaside Town is empty because of all the zombies... Oh, your familiars are all dead, except for the ones that are already dead... Oh, you ARE a zombie... Huh.

In fact, that's the first thing you'll notice about this run. That you are indeed a zombie. That means...
  • No MP what-so-ever. Replaced by zombie followers.
  • No permed skills available.
  • Only undead familiars available.
  • Zombie skills from skill trees.
  • You get fallen down drunk at 5 drunkness.
After killing humanoid opponents that's been hit by your Infectious Bite, you can recruit the enemy as one of your zombie minions. These zombie minions are your replacement for MP, as you use your minions for some of your skills as a Zombie Master.

Sometimes, you will encounter wandering Zombie Hunters. They will drop epic brains that will give you a Zombie point to spend on new zombie skills.

Although I'm still new and experimenting with this path, here are some untested tips.
  • If you don't have any of the available familiars in this run, consider picking one up before starting one.
  • Ascend into a zodiac that will help with your muscle gains as it is your main stat.
  • Take an Astral Mace or Astral Shield to make things easier.
  • Start by raising your skills in the Anger of the Zombie skill tree to get Vigor Mortis for the passive +30% Muscle bonus. Plague Claws is also a VERY useful skill in making combats easier, while also increasing the damage done with Infectious Bite to help ensure recruiting the enemy as a zombie minion.
    • From there, decide whether if you want more adventures (Hunger tree), more combat effectiveness (Anger tree), or more familiar weight (Master tree). If you have good familiars to help you with your run, Master tree takes priority. If not, take Hunger if you feel are doing okay in combat, and Anger otherwise.
    • Master tree offers better options for speed purposes, such as a pickpocket skill, +20% item drop buff, +30 monster level, and combat frequency modifiers, on top of the familiar boosts.
This post will be updated as I learn more about the run, but feel free to leave a comment if there are any other helpful tips for other players.
